May 23, 2022 (newstodate): The 36th Airbus A220-300 aircraft for Latvia's airBaltic is now in the air.
The aircraft started its flight test program on May 16, 2022, and is approaching delivery in June as the fourth new addition in 2022, with another four to be delivered to bring the fleet to a total of 40 Airbus A220-300 aircraft by the end of this year.
The 35th aircraft landed at Riga Airport only on May 20, bolstering the airline's position as the world's largest operator of the aircraft type.
The aircraft deliveries are part of airBaltic's order for 50 Airbus A220-300; in addition, airBaltic holds 30 options and purchase rights for the same aircraft type.
