Apr 29, 2022 (newstodate): The Ukrainian LLC SkyUp Airline is striving hard to save its fleet and stay in business despite the turmoil caused by the Russian invasion.
Now, SkyUp Airlines -under the certificate of the Turkish airline Tailwind - is becoming a frequent operator at three Baltic airports, having been chartered by the tour operator Join UP! for flights to Mediterranean leisure destinations during this summer season.
Tomorrow, April 30, 2022, will see the first flight by SkyUp Airlines from Vilnius to Antalya, and similar flights will launch from Riga and Tallinn in the coming weeks.
The program will start out with one, soon expanding to two weekly flights from Vilnius and growing to five weekly flights by the end of May 2022, in addition to two weekly flights from Riga and three from Tallinn.
Besides the flights to Turkey, Join UP! is also to add flights to Albania, Montenegro and two Greek islands in summer 2022, all operated by SkyUp Airlines - under the certificate of the Bulgarian airline Holiday Europe - that will be basing two aircraft in the Baltic region - one at Tallinn Airport and one at Riga Airport. These flights are all on wet-lease contracts.
Since 2018, Tour operator Join UP! - active in the Baltic countries, Ukraine, Moldova and Kazakhstan - has developed a strong partnership with SkyUp Airlines.
In the fleet of SkyUp Airlines are now two Boeing 737-700, four Boeing 737-900ER, and nine Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with orders placed for five Boeing 737 MAX and one more Boeing 737-900 aircraft.
