Apr 20, 2022 (newstodate): Cargo volumes are slowly recovering at Copenhagen Airport where total volumes reached 77,483 tonnes in Q1/11, legacy carriers and integrators combined.
This was an increase by 24 percent, y-o-y, but volumes in Q1/21 were still down 12.5 percent on the preceding year.
Counting legacy carriers alone, volumes in Q1/22 were 53,667 tonnes, up 27.8 percent, y-o-y, while volumes in Q1/21 were still down by 21 percent, y-o-y.
In March 2022 alone, cargo volumes on legacy carriers were 20,257 tonnes, up 23.5 percent on March 2021.
During Q1/22, a total of 40 all-cargo and freighter operations were handled, compared to 277 in Q1/21 where PPE flights dominated - but the airport is still to see the return of scheduled cargo flights.
Also the volume of long-haul flights with significant cargo capacity still remains low so far into 2022.
