Apr 29, 2022 (newstodate): Norwegian is now connecting Helsinki to all three Scandinavian capitals.
Rounding off the circle is the reopening of flights between Helsinki and Copenhagen Airport starting from May 1, 2022, and to be operated with four weekly rotations.
Norwegian is already operating several daily flights between Helsinki and Stockholm, as well as four weekly rotations on the route to Oslo.
With the latest addition of flights to Copenhagen, Norwegian will be operating on 19 direct routes including two domestic lines - but from June the carrier will be offering flights on 27 direct routes from Helsinki, which will again secure a position as the second-largest operator at Helsinki Airport after Finnair.
Norwegian reopened its base at Helsinki Airport from summer 2022 - its sixth base opening since 2021.
The carrier has allocated four Boeing 737-800 aircraft and some 100 cabin crew and 50 pilots to the Helsinki hub.
At its heyday until 2019/2020, Norwegian had grown to become the second-largest airline operating at Helsinki Airport, aggregating some 15 percent of the total traffic, and trailing only after Finnair accounting for some 65 percent.
And in the original pre-coronavirus summer schedule, Norwegian planned for direct non-stop flights from Helsinki to 21 international destinations, as well as flights on a domestic route network in Finland.
Reopening flights at Helsinki Airport from June 28, 2021, Norwegian has been providing flights on 14 routes from Helsinki Airport, including two domestic routes to Oulo and Rovaniemi.
Norwegian opened its first base at Helsinki in March 2011 with three aircraft serving a network comprising 13 international and two domestic routes.
