Apr 26, 2022 (newstodate): It's been along process, but now one milestone has been passed: the new Lithuanian airline Global Airways Lithuania has obtained its AOC.
   The AOC was issued in late March 2022, while the initial application was filed with the Estonian FAA already in October 2020.
   When plans for Global Airways Lithuania, a subsidiary of the South African carrier Global Airways, were first aired, the carrier expected to launch services already from summer 2021 with an Airbus A320 provided by the South African mother company - but the outbreak and spread of coronavirus put the brakes on the process..
   The carrier is now to apply for its Air Operator License and a second Airbus A320 is to be added shortly - but so far Global Airways Lithuania has not revealed further details.  
   While new in the air, Global Airways has actually already been present in the market by its GSA, Bruno Kaspar, based in Vilnius.
