Apr 06, 2022 (newstodate): The Icelandic cargo carrier Bluebird Nordic has named a new CEO: Audrone Keinyte.
A Lithuanian national, Ms Keinyte takes over the rudder from her predecessor, Siggi Agustsson who has been in the position since 2020 and will now continue as a senior advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Avia Solutions Group, owner of Bluebird Nordic.
Ms Keinyte brings in rich experience from 15 years with the Lithuanian travel group Novaturas, the largest in the Baltic region, last serving as its CEO since January 2019.
Ms Audrone Keinyte will also take over the position of CEO at BBN Cargo Airlines Holdings, the holding company of Bluebird Nordic, that was acquired by Lithuania's Avia Solutions Group under an agreement signed on January 25, 2020.
Bluebird Nordic is to take in a total of 25 Boeing 737-800 converted freighters till 2024, adding to its existing fleet comprising one Boeing 737-300, seven Boeing 737-400 freighters and now also two Boeing 737-800.
The carrier is also to build up capacity in the wide-body cargo segment, signing a lease agreement in January this year with Dublin-based lessor STLC Europe Twenty Five Leasing Ltd for two Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft to be converted to cargo version and offered in the airfreight market by 2024.
