Apr 19, 2022 (newstodate): The Estonian Nordic Aviation Group is boosting its ACMI revenue stream by adding the first Airbus A320 aircraft to its fleet.
With the start of commercial operations from July 1, 2022, the A320 will be operated by Nordica that received its AOC in February 2016, today operating CRJ900 on a Swedish PSO comprising flights connecting Gallivare, Arvidsjaur, and Stockholm - actually the first regular flights under Nordica's own name.
Opening of the new production line will allow NAG to offer CPA/ACMI solutions in the full range from 70 to 180 seats to major airlines, tour operators and the charter market, and expectations are that a first contract covering the Airbus A320 will be announced soon.
And ambitions go well behind the inclusion of the first Airbus A320 aircraft:
-We are confident that we will be able to reach a fleet of at least 10 A320 aircraft over the next few years based on the discussions we have been having with our potential customers. This will enable us to reach the critical mass and become a significant player in that segment, says Anton Onnik, NAG CEO, in a comment to the release.
In summer 2022, NAG's fleet will comprise a total of 17 aircraft including seven ATR72-600, nine CRJ900 as well as the single Airbus A320.
With a total of 480 employees, NAG has its HQ in Tallinn and crew bases in Tallinn, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Aarhus, Vilnius, and Turku.
