Apr 29, 2022 (newstodate): As Turkey has chosen to stay out of the western sanctions package, the Turkish Antalya-based charter carrier Corendon Airlines has no problems with serving the Russian market.
As a novelty and starting from today, Corendon Airlines is online at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport with flights to Antalya, to be operated four times weekly with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
In Corendon's fleet today are 28 Boeing 737-800 and one 737 Max 8, but this summer will see the addition of another 10 aircraft, including another five Boeing 737 MAX 8; and 2023 will see the delivery of two more Boeing 737 Max 8 and three Max 9 aircraft.
This still not suffices to cover the needs of Corendon's expanding business in summer 2022 that is also seeing the carrier's entry into the Danish market where Corendon Airlines made its debut on April 8, 2022, starting out with weekly direct flights from Antalya to Copenhagen, Billund and Aalborg, and, as of June 24, two flights to Copenhagen.
Corendon Airlines has thus contracted the Danish carrier DAT to allocate two Airbus A320 aircraft and one Airbus A321 to initially start operations at Antalya for flights during the period from April 1 till October 31, 2022.
Also, the Lithuanian charter/ACMI carrier GetJEt Airlines has announced a seven-months contract with Corendon Airlines comprising two Airbus A320 aircraft to be based at Antalya for flights to Turkish leisure destinations including Antalya, Izmir, Bodrum, Dalaman and Alanya from European destinations starting from April 2022.
