Apr 01, 2022 (newstodate): Billund Airport is to have a new man to lift cargo business to the next level.
After a period of leave, Jan Ditlevsen has announced his decision to leave his position as Billund Airport Snr VP Cargo, citing health reasons, with immediate effect.
-Jan Ditlevsen has decided to step down. I would like very much to thank Jan for all the work he has done for CCB and Billund Airport. Jan has really put Billund Airport on the map as an attractive airport for cargo flights and cargo, and he leaves a freight center on top with yet another record year 2021 – a development to be proud of, says Jan Hessellund, Billund Airport CEO, in a comment.
Mr Ditlevsen joined Billund Airport in January 1998; in 1998, Cargo Center Billund handled 35,154 tonnes - a volume growing continuously to reach 74,064 in pre-Covid 2019, and rising again in 2021 to 77,150 tonnes.
Under Mr Ditlevsen's management Cargo Center Billund has managed to achieve a renowned position in the North European airfreight business for building special competencies in handling of relief cargo, live animals and perishables, pharmaceuticals as well as special solutions catering to the needs of logistics and forwarding companies.
