Apr 22, 2022 (newstodate): Starting from June 20, 2022, Air Montenegro will be operating the seasonal route between Podgorica and Copenhagen, offering two weekly rotations, as its only Scandinavian connection.
In the fleet of Air Montenegro are two Embraer E195 aircraft taken over from its predecessor, Montenegro Airlines, that went bust in December 2020.
So with the opening of new summer routes, the carrier has leased one Airbus A320 aircraft from Trade Air, and this aircraft will be serving the route to Copenhagen as well.
Air Montenegro was established in early 2021 by the Government of Montenegro and officially launched operations between Podgorica and Belgrade, in Serbia, in June 2021.
Montenegro Airlines was serving flights to Copenhagen from Podgorica from May 1, 2010, with up to three weekly rotations, planning for resumption of services from Mid-August 2020, with two weekly rotations using Embraer E195 aircraft - which did not materialize as the Covid-19 struck, and the airline was grounded.
