Mar 31, 2022 (newstodate): On March 30, 2022, Swiss performed its first touch-down  at Lithuania's Vilnius,  marking the start of its flight program in Lithuania.
   One of five new European routes in the SWISS summer 2022 program is the launch of flights between Zurich and Vilnius with two weekly rotations, competing with the Latvian carrier airBaltic that has also put the route on its map from Vilnius by late March 2020.
   The route was last operated by the carrier Germania from June 2, 2016, as the first direct air link between the two destinations since 2008, but the carrier folded its wings in bankruptcy in February 2019.
