Mar 23, 2022 (newstodate): Sweden's Stockholm Skavsta Airport is changing hands - again.
The current owner since April 2018, the French company VINCI Airports has sold 90.1 percent of the stake to the Swedish real estate group Arlandastad Group AB, under an agreement expected to be completed by April 2022 after fulfillment of all conditions.
The Arlandastad Group plans to develop 484 hectares of airport land in partnership with the municipality of Nykoping that has already processed a local urban plan to pave the way for the development of a logistics zone and a large-scale business park.
Arlandastad Group and VINCI Airports have also signed an agreement enabling SunMind, a VINCI Concessions subsidiary, to develop, finance, build and maintain a solar farm on the airport site.
Ryanair closed its Stockholm Skavsta base from March 29, 2020, leaving Wizz Air as the airport's single largest operator.
