Mar 22, 2022 (newstodate): The new Norwegian LCC Flyr has now taken delivery of its second Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, arriving at Oslo Airport this morning.
In October 2021, Flyr entered an LoI with ALC, Air Lease Corporation, for six Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
The aircraft will be delivered directly from the Boeing factory to Flyr during the first half of 2022, with all aircraft delivered successively towards the summer.
The LoI also comprises an option for four more aircraft, with delivery in 2023.
In the fleet are now also six Boeing 737-800 aircraft, and plans are to expand the fleet to 12-18 aircraft by the end of this year.
On June 16, 2021, Flyr received its AOC by the Norwegian CAA, starting our with the lease of two ex-Pegasus Boeing 737-800 aircraft from the UK aircraft leasing company Pembroke.
