Mar 22, 2022 (newstodate): Danish MRO company Skyways Technics has bolstered its Board of Directors by adding Washington-based Andrew O'Brian by February 1, 2022.
The inclusion of Andrew O'Brian to the board brings international aviation experience to the existing board comprised of lawyer and British consul Henrik Kleis, chairman, Skyways Technics CEO and Owner Benjamin Nielsen, and former Atlantic Airways President and CEO Magni Arge.
Mr O'Brian's extensive CV comprises his position as CEO of Reach Airports, a joint venture between Munich Airport International and the US investment firm The Carlyle Group since August 1st, 2021.
Prior to joining Reach Airport, Andrew O'Brian served as CEO of the airport company behind Quito International Airport in Ecuador, CEO of AERODOM, which operates six airports in the Dominican Republic, Airport Manager at Copa Airlines in Costa Rica, and several years at the helm of ACI-LAC Latin America and the Caribbean.
Skyways Technics is working on a strategy of growth and expansion with HQ at Sonderborg, Denmark, and a subsidiary in Kuala Lumpur, a sales office located in Dubai, and a sales office in Florida, employing a total of some 150 staff.
Since 2012, Skyways Technics operates an 8,000 m2 maintenance hangar at Billund Airport, and also opened a new subsidiary in early 2020 at Lithuania's Kaunas Airport, an established center for aircraft maintenance.
Built on the former Cimber Air technical department, Skyways Technics managed by Benjamin Nielsen as CEO has its focus on maintenance, repair and spare part support for ATR and CRJ aircraft
