Mar 04, 2022 (newstodate): While Lithuania's charter carrier GetJet Airlines has announced the abrogation of its contract with TUI Baltics citing EU sanctions, another charter carrier takes a different stand.
In focus is the fact that a key Russian shareholder in TUI is on the EU sanction list, which raises the issue of whether to continue cooperating with TUI.
In Scandinavia, TUI Nordic with HQ in Stockholm is a long-term major customer for the Danish carrier Jettime.
-Our only comment to the current lamentable situation around Ukraine is that we of course intend to adhere to our contractual responsibilities towards TUI Nordic, our single largest customer, says Birthe Madsen, Jettime VP Management Support.
TUI was a key customer also for Jet Time that filed for bankruptcy on July 21, 2020; prior to that, the cooperation was further strengthened from 2018 when TUI Nordic laid down its own carrier serving the Nordic markets.
After the demise of Jet Time, TUI has continued its cooperation with the new carrier Jettime, registered on June 8, 2020, by the investment company JT3H owned by Lars Thuesen, with Jorgen Holme as CEO.
