Mar 02, 2022 (newstodate): Denmark's Billund Airport again saw cargo volumes rising in February 2022.
A total of 6,666 tonnes of airfreight was handled at the airport, which was an increase by 22.7 percent, y-o-y.
Total volumes included 1,7854 tonnes of imports, up 33.4 percent, and 4,912 tonnes of exports which was also an increase by 19.3 percent, y-o-y.
In the first two months of this year, Billund Airport has thus handled 13,379 tonnes of cargo, up 27.4 percent compared to last year.
One truly spectacular event at Billund Airport in February 2022 was the An-225 performing what was to become its last operation from China on February 4, 2022, returning for maintenance from Billund on February 5, 2022, to its home base at Gostomel Airport where it burned out after being hit by Russian missile attacks.
