Mar 07, 2022 (newstodate): One airline thriving amid the current crisis from the Russian invasion of Ukraine is the Serb carrier Air Serbia.
Together with the Belarus carrier Belavia, Air Serbia maintains air traffic with Russia, and Air Serbia has even introduced its Airbus A330-200 aircraft on the route connecting Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport and Moscow against A320 earlier used on the route, going up from normally five to eight weekly rotations.
The carrier reports all seats sold so far till March 15, 2022, with the highest demand on the flights out of Moscow.
According to reports in Russian press, Air Serbia is planning to lease additional aircraft from its minority shareholder Etihad Airways in order to cater for the unexpected growth in demand on the Russian route.
