Mar 14, 2022 (newstodate): Aeroflot will soon be without a Regional Sales Manager in Scandinavia, Finland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
After nine years in the seat, Johan Magnus Eriksson is stepping down as the carrier has been forced to suspend all services to the region as a result of the international sanctions after Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
According to Mr Eriksson's post on LinkedIn, Aeroflot had indeed offered him to stay in the office pending the return of services.
-Aeroflot Russian Airlines has always been loyal to me, even in this very difficult time for the people of Ukraine and Russia and for the company; I was offered to stay, but despite the fact that I am sure Aeroflot will soon shine again also in the EU, I have decided to move on to new challenges, writes Mr Eriksson that has added a "Stop the War" message to his LinkedIn profile.
Aeroflot returned services to the Nordic region after the Covid-19 restrictions were lifted, offering five weekly rotations between Moscow and Stockholm, four weekly rotations between Moscow and Helsinki, and three weekly rotations between Moscow and Copenhagen as well as Oslo.
Aeroflot flights to Stockholm were reopened in February 2021, with two weekly flights from Moscow to Stockholm.

Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, Aeroflot was operating two daily passenger flights from Moscow to Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm as well as three daily flights to Helsinki.
