Feb 07, 2022 (newstodate): After more than three decades without diplomatic or commercial ties due to the conflict over Nagorno-Karabagh and other unsettled historical issues, Turkey and Armenia are gradually starting a process of normalization.
As one significant move, airlines from the two countries have commenced flights on the route connecting Istanbul and Yerevan, with Turkey's Pegasus Airlines now offering three weekly flights, and Armenia's Fly One in the air with another three rotations on the route.
Over the years, several attempts were made to reestablish air services between the two countries - but eventually failed due to political turbulence.
