Feb 04, 2022 (newstodate): Sweden's TAM, Taby Air Maintenance, is consolidating its position as the world’s leading conversion specialist for Saab 340 and Saab 2000 aircraft.
TAM has thus now completed its 25th Saab 340 cargo conversion on a Saab 340B, to be delivered to Jetstream Aviation Capital.
Already in 2017, TAM delivered its first converted SAAB 340B freighter aircraft directly to operations in the US cargo industry on a contract with Jetstream Aviation Capital, a Florida-based turboprop aircraft lessor which is the largest global lessor of Saab 340 and Saab 2000 aircraft.
TAM was the first company worldwide to be approved by the US Federal Aviation Administration, FAA, as well as the European Aviation Safety Authority, EASA, to perform a full cargo conversion of Saab 340A and Saab 340B - a process requiring about six weeks of work at the plant close to Orebro Airport.
Already later this spring, TAM will be opening a new chapter by finishing the first-ever conversion of the Saab 2000 aircraft, also to be delivered to Jetstream Aviation Capital.
The Saab 2000 first flew in March 1992 and was certified in 1994. The last of 63 built aircraft built was delivered in April 1999.
