Feb 23, 2022 (newstodate): The Romanian cargo carrier Rom Cargo Airlines hopes to become Romania's third carrier to obtain rights to operate flights into the USA.
   On February 16, 2022, Rom Cargo Airlines filed an application with the FAA for a Foreign Airline Permit and exemption allowing  the airline to operate scheduled commercial cargo flights between Europe and the United States.
   Late in December 2021, Rom Cargo Airlines was actually approved by the FAA to operate 12 cargo charter flights from Europe to the US, but these rights have so far not been utilized.
   Obtaining its AOC in October 2021, Rom Cargo Airlines has registered the country's first Boeing 747-400BCF, earlier operated by Thai Airways Cargo.
