Feb 17, 2022 (newstodate): The Latvian ACMI and charter operator SmartLynx Airlines is again to strengthen its position in the cargo market.
   The carrier has announced a contract with  Elbe Flugzeugwerke, EFW, for six A321 passenger-to-freighter aircraft, with conversions scheduled for 2022 and 2023 to be performed at ST Engineering’s conversion sites in Singapore and China, and scheduled for 2022 and 2023.
   The A321P2F with 14 main-deck positions plus 10 belly container positions will be able to carry up to 28 tonnes over 1,900nm.  
   Adding the total containerized volume, it equals the volume of more than 16.5 upper deck containers, or more than the maximum of 15 as provided by a Boeing 757.
