Feb 21, 2022 (newstodate): airBaltic is to return seasonal flights from Riga to two Caucasian destinations, Baku in Azerbaijan and Yerevan in Armenia.
Flights on both routes will commence from May 1, 2022, with two rotations served with Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
airBaltic first launched flights from Riga to Baku on May 3, 2016, operated with Boeing 737 aircraft with one weekly rotation, going up to two in summer 2018 - but services were suspended from 2019 as the Covid19 pandemic struck.
airBaltic's flights from Riga to Yerevan were launched on April 17, 2008, with three weekly rotations using Boeing 737 aircraft.
Services were suspended prior to the Covid-19, and slated for resumption from summer 2021 - but again delayed for obvious reasons..
