Feb 14, 2022 (newstodate): Air traffic is slowly picking up at the capital airports in the Nordic region - but at a most uneven pace.
Measured in recovery, percentage-wise, Iceland's Keflavik Airport saw the highest recovery level in January 2022, with 50.7 percent of the traffic back, compared to January 2021.
#2 is Norway's Oslo Airport with a recovery rate at 43.3 percent, followed by #3, Denmark's Copenhagen Airport that saw 41.8 percent back in January.
#4 on the list is Sweden's Stockholm Arlanda with 40.7 percent - while Finland's Helsinki Airport rounds off the list with only 37.7 percent of the traffic back in January 2022.
However, the list is different when ranked by passenger volumes in January 2022; here, Oslo Airport is #1 with 839,863 passengers thanks to a robust demand for domestic air travel.
#2 is Copenhagen Airport with 820,537 passengers, followed by Stockholm Arlanda with 732,746 passengers, and #4 Helsinki Airport with 606,116 passengers, reflecting the continued slow pick-up in international, notably Asian, air traffic.
Finally, Keflavik Airport saw 190,488 passengers in January 2022.
