Feb 10, 2022 (newstodate): Armenia's coming new national carrier Fly Arna is planning for launch of services from May 2022.
In the fleet will be two Airbus A320neo on a lease contract with its joint venture partner Air Arabia.
Established by a JV announced in July 2021 between the Armenian National Interests Fund and the Sharjah-based Air Arabia Group, Fly Arna will be based at Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport.
Heading Fly Arna is Antony Price as CEO, bringing in over 20 years of aviation and tourism experience and with senior leadership positions with British Airways, Air New Zealand, FlyBMI, and most recently as Head of Flight Supply Strategy for Agoda, part of the Booking.com family of OTA brands.
In November 2021, EU and Armenia signed a Common Aviation Area Agreement, clearing the skies for the new carrier to operate flights on routes connecting Armenia and EU member states.
