Feb 22, 2022 (newstodate): Sweden's Gothenburg Airport will see a new airline on the runway in summer 2022: Air Corsica.
Starting from June 11 and till August 20, 2022, Air Corsica will offer direct flights between Gothenburg and Bastia Airport in the northwest part of the island, where travelers can also find an easy getaway to the Italian island of Sardinia to the south.
Air Corsica will operate an Airbus A320neo on the route to be operated with a weekly rotation, with the bulk of the seats allotted to the Swedish tour operator Langley.
The carrier actually put Gothenburg on its route map already in summer 2020 with flights scheduled from April 25 till October 2, 2020- but this was suspended due to the Covid-19.
The new route to Sweden will be Air Corsica's first attempt at flights to the Nordic region, adding to its network of currently 20 destinations served with a fleet comprising 12 aircraft, including four Airbus A320 and two Airbus A320neo.
