Dec 09, 2022 (newstodate): As one of the few European carriers still allowed through Russian airspace, Air Serbia is today launching flights on its new route to China.
Flights from Belgrade to Tianjin Binhai International Airport are now on the monitor, with one weekly rotation to be operated with one of the carrier's Airbus A330 aircraft.
But Air Serbia's plans go beyond this: once Chinese Covid-restrictions on air services are eased, the carrier plans to add also flights to Beijing and Shanghai with up to three Airbus A330 aircraft in its fleet.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world in 2019, China was the largest long haul market from Serbia based on OAG data, even outperforming the United States.
