Dec 20, 2022 (newstodate): Finnair is looking forward to increasing its services to key Asian markets in summer 2023.
After a break of more than a year, Finnair will start flights to Osaka with three weekly flights and add flights to Tokyo's Narita Airport, Hong Kong and Delhi.
The carrier's route to Osaka, launched in June 2003, was slated to be served during the summer 2022 schedule with three weekly rotations - but the closure of Russia's airspace forced Finnair to suspend.
In the 2023 summer season starting at the end of March, Finnair will operate flights to Tokyo's Narita four times a week in addition to its daily flights to Tokyo's Haneda.
During the S'23 schedule, Finnair will also be operating daily flights from Helsinki to Hong Kong as well as Delhi.
-We are happy to be able to meet the growing demand in Asia. We will fly a total of 14 weekly flights between Finland and Japan in the summer of 2023, as well as daily flights to Hong Kong and Delhi," says Ole Orvér, Finnair commercial director.
For summer 2022, Finnair originally planned for 40 weekly rotations on routes between Finland and Japan, but the Russian war on Ukraine and the closure of Russian airspace cut plans to pieces.
