Dec 13, 2022 (newstodate): Copenhagen Airport is still up in cargo volumes according to statistics for January-November 2022 - but the growth has softened somewhat, compared to last month's statistics.
Combining cargo carried on legacy carriers and integrators, the airport handled a total of 277,279 tonnes of cargo in January-November - up 7.2 percent, y-o-y, but down from last month's growth by 9.8 percent during the first 10 months of last year.
Counting cargo on legacy carriers alone, the airport noted 188,445 tonnes of cargo in Jan-Nov '22, up 6.9 percent, y-o-y, compared to a growth by 10.3 percent during Jan-Oct.
Belly cargo on legacy carriers were 97,494 tonnes, which was up 10.2 percent, y-o-y, in Jan-Nov, compared to a hike by 17.3 percent during Jan-Oct, reflecting the hike in flights on passenger traffic.
Comparing total volumes on legacy and integrator carriers in November vs. October 2022, total volumes dropped 5.4 percent, m-o-m; cargo on legacy carriers alone were down 9.8 percent, reflecting a drop by 16 percent, m-o-m, in legacy belly cargo, to 7,760 tonnes which was this year's second-lowest figure.
Copenhagen Airport attributes the significant month-by-month decrease in legacy belly cargo to a drop in traffic between Copenhagen Airport and China.
