Dec 02, 2022 (newstodate): Cargo volumes handled at Iceland's Keflavik Airport dropped by 5.2 percent, y-o-y, during the first 10 months of this year.
44,924 tonnes of cargo thus passed through the airport, including 16,712 tonnes of imports that were down by 1.5 percent.
However, export cargo volumes dipped even more - down 8.8 percent, y-o-y, to 28,211 tonnes.
In Jan-Dec 2021, Keflavik Airport still saw its total cargo volumes rising after a disastrous year 2020.
A total of 59,274 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport in 2021, an increase by 20.4 percent, y-o-y, with airfreight volumes alone rising 20.6 percent to a total of 58,158 tonnes.
