Nov 23, 2022 (newstodate): The Ukrainian carrier SkyUp Airlines has gained another edge in its fight to keep its fleet and crews in the air, focusing on the wet-lease markets.
The carrier has thus now obtained its TCO, Third Country Operator authorization, from the UK regulator and can now operate in the UK without requiring further permits.
-We provided all required papers and completed all procedures to receive a document certifying compliance with the requirements of the UK Part-TCO Regulations, the company says is a statement.
Employing 408 flight attendants and 204 pilots, SkyUp holds an EASA TCO and the right to operate flights to the UK, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and in June 2022, the carrier also received the Swiss TCO, thus confirming full compliance with Swiss and EU aviation safety standards.
To boost its efforts in attracting new wet-lease customers in the market, SkyUp Airlines has also signed an agreement with the British company Brookfield Aviation International that counts brokering of aircraft wet-leasing among its key competencies.
