Nov 25, 2022 (newstodate): The second Uzbek carrier after Uzbekistan Airways has been granted access to the EU markets.
Privately-owned Qanot Sharq has obtained its TCO from EASA allowing it to operate flights into the EU airspace, with its fleet currently comprising two Airbus A320 and one Airbus A321 aircraft leased from AirLease and based at Tashkent Islam Karimov Airport.
Qanot Sharq entered business in 2005 as a cargo airline operating one Ilyushin IL-76, but has now left the air cargo market.
