Nov 24, 2022 (newstodate): SAS is returning to New York JFK after 33 years at New York Newark Airport.
With the opening flight on February 9, 2023, the carrier will thus be offering initially five weekly rotations from Copenhagen Airport, going up to daily services from the summer '23 schedule.
The new route is designed to enabling SAS customers to travel easily from both the West and East side of New York as SAS continues to offer departures from Scandinavia to Newark Airport.
SAS left New York JFK in 1989, moving instead to Newark in an effort to deepen its partnership with Continental Airlines that also joined the Star Alliance in 2009 - but disappeared to be merged with United Airlines in March 2012.
