Nov 17, 2022 (newstodate): Rosaviatsia, the Russian aviation regulator, is embarking on a major program of inspection of western-built aircraft in the country's airline fleets.
-The Russian Federal Agency of Air Transport plans to inspect 599 Boeing and Airbus airplanes by the end of December 2022, the regulator’s press service reports.
-The Russian Federal Agency of Air Transport is implementing scheduled activities on issuance of airworthiness certificates to Russian airlines’ airplanes of foreign make, supervised before introduction of Western sanctions by air authorities of Bermuda and Ireland.
-Activities of inspecting 599 aircraft of foreign make are scheduled to be completed by the end of December 2022.
Rosaviatsia itself sees no issues with its inspectors' competence to perform the coming jobs:
-The number of inspectors of the Russian regulators, their experience and qualifications make possible to complete the assessment of the technical condition of foreign airplanes and prepare relevant documents.
-The Russian aviation regulator does not see risks of failure to complete the activities in time, the message reads.
