Nov 09, 2022 (newstodate): Estonia's Nordic Aviation Group keeps cards close to the body, but words are out: a business venture is developing in Germany.
The first indications were ads on LinkedIn calling for applicants among Airbus A320 cockpit and cabin crews to be based at Hamburg and Munich.
-Unfortunately, it is a little bit too early to reveal so much information about this new project. We still have a lot of things to materialize together with our customer, which is a new start-up, says Jan Palmer, Nordic Aviation Group CEO.
-Since we are planning for next summer's operation, we have to be pro-active and start the search and recruiting of crews.
The coming venture with a German partner is just one of several new contracts bringing NAG firmly into the wider European aviation markets.
Starting from November 1, 2022, the NAC Group's capacity provider Xfly has placed one ATR72-600 aircraft in Lisbon under a wet-lease contract with TAP, with one more aircraft to join shortly, and jobs openings have also been announced for Airbus A320 cockpit crews to be based in a coming new base in Sofia, Bulgaria, in cooperation with a yet-undisclosed airline customer.
Nordic Aviation Group has already taken delivery of its first Airbus A320neo, and four more will be added from March '23 in time for the summer 2023 schedule.
Fully state-owned, Nordic Aviation Group comprises the capacity provider Xfly operating seven ATR72-600 as well as nine CRJ900 on a contract with SAS, and the airline Nordica that will be operating the Airbus A320 aircraft - both companies with an own AOC.
Nordica has revealed its ambitions to be operating up to 10 Airbus A320 within "the next few years" as requested by the market.
