Nov 09, 2022 (newstodate): Malta seems to be a virtual greenhouse for aviation, fostering new airlines thriving on favorable taxation and investment environments within an EU framework.
New in the skies in 2023 will be a new Maltese carrier Valetta Airlines to lift-off early 2023 with a focus on global charter and ACMI services.
Valetta Airlines will aim at providing services in markets including North and South Americas, Europe, Middle East and Far East Asia.
Backed by private Cypriot investments, the Air Valletta Group is setting up Valetta Airlines with an initial fleet of one Airbus A320-200 on its AOC expected to be landed shortly, planning for three Airbus A320-200 and two Airbus A330-200 before the end of 2023.
Speculations are that Valetta Airlines is poised to become the successor to the country's current national carrier, Air Malta, that is deep in financial mire and close to a crash landing with a fleet of seven Airbus A320 aircraft.
