Nov 23, 2022 (newstodate): The Lithuanian IOSA-certified ACMI and Charter carrier GetJet Airlines has landed a long-term partnership with the Nigerian operator Ibom Air.
Under a one-year contract, GetHJet Airlines will place two Airbus A320 aircraft on wet-lease with Ibom Air.
In cooperation with its affiliates, GetJet Airlines will also support Ibom Air via crew training and line maintenance services in Nigeria.
The broader strategy for this partnership between the Akwa Ibom state-owned airline and GetJet Airlines is strengthening Ibom Air’s competitive position within the West African market.
-The wet-lease agreement is a stop-gap measure undertaken to meet current demands and accommodate growth, while awaiting the deliveries slated for H2, 2023, of our ten Airbus A220-300 aircraft, an order that was firmed up in November 2021 at the Dubai Airshow, says George Uriesi, Ibom Air COO.
In the fleet of Ibom Air are now seven aircraft, including five Bombardier CRJ 900 and two Airbus A320-300, serving a network of seven destinations.
