Nov 23, 2022 (newstodate): The Latvian cargo carrier RAF-AVIA has waved goodbye to the last of its steady workhorses for years, the AN-26 freighter.
The aircraft has been sold earlier this year to the Ukrainian airline Vulkan Air that is now operating a fleet of three EASA-certified aircraft of the type in the small to medium payload segment with HQ at Kiev.
In the fleet of RAF-AVIA are now two ATR72, one SAAB340A freighter, one SAAB340A in QC version, and one Saab340B freighter.
-The ad-hoc market is still very much alive, and we work successfully. Now the Christmas season is on the market - and it is very busy as usual, says Jelena Rigere, RAF-AVIA commercial manager.
