Nov 04, 2022 (newstodate): The Czech charter and ACMI carrier Smartwings may soon have new owners, according to a mandatory announcement by the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
The Israeli carrier Israir has placed a bid on SmartWings that has been operating under several ACMI contracts with Israir.
Current owners of Smartwings are Jiri Siman and Roman Vik, as well as a Chinese investor, CITIC.
The Smartwings Group also owns 30 percent of Czech Airlines CSA - not comprised by the ownership change - and has subsidiaries in Poland, Hungary and Slovakia.
In the fleet of Smartwings are 34 aircraft - Boeing 737 of various types, including seven Boeing 737 MAX 8.
