Nov 23, 2022 (newstodate): Stockholm Airport saw its flown cargo volumes slightly down in October 2022.
In October '22, Stockholm Airport handled a total of 8,935 tonnes of flown cargo, excluding mail and trucked cargo, largely unchanged against last month, but down 0.2 percent, y-o-y.
The drop in October was primarily due to a sustained fall in flown import volumes that dropped 16.4 percent, y-o-y.
However, the airport is still up by 7.8 percent, y-o-y, in January-October '22, to 86,176 tonnes.
Looking slightly ahead, the airport may well see further growth in cargo volumes as Finnair launched daily flights between Stockholm and Doha from November 1, 2022, under a new cooperation with Qatar Airways.
Gothenburg Airport has seen volumes down by 1.9 percent, y-o-y, in October, to 1,480 tonnes and by 10.4 percent during the first ten months of this year, to 14,292 tonnes.
Finally, Malmo Airport that has also seen volumes falling by 34.4 percent in October, to 1,317 tonnes, and by 22.6 percent in Jan-Oct '22 to 15,077 tonnes, primarily due to FedEx's acquisition of TNT which moved cargo to Copenhagen Airport instead.
