Nov 08, 2022 (newstodate): As a result of the Russian airspace closure, many cargo figures declined year-on-year in October. However, most cargo figures improved month-on-month, says Finnair in a comment to statistics on October 2022.
A total of 9,853 tonnes of cargo was lifted on Finnair aircraft, almost exclusively on passenger aircraft, with only few all-cargo movements.
Of the total volume, 4,999 tonnes were carried on the Asian lanes that were up only slightly by 0.9 percent, y-o-y.
On the NAM lanes, the carrier lifted 2,394 tonnes, which was however down by 0.5 percent.
By contrast, European volumes were up threefold to 2,411 tonnes during the month.
So far into the year Finnair has thus transported a total of 101,840 tonnes o0f cargo, up 32.8 percent, y-o-y, of which the Asian lanes contributed 45,819 tonnes, up 59.6 percent, y-o-y, while the NAM traffic weighed 27,858 tonnes after growing 221.6 percent.
