Nov 29, 2022 (newstodate): The Airbus A220-300 has landed a new airline customer: Croatia Airlines.
   The carrier has placed a firm order with Airbus for six A220-300 aircraft, and is also planning to take in a further nine aircraft of the type on lease from a yet-unnamed provider.
   As of September 2022, 15 airlines operated a total of 227 A220 family aircraft, with Latvia's airBaltic ranking second-largest with 36 aircraft, two pending delayed delivery - and plans to be operating 40 aircraft before the end of this year.
   airBaltic might well emerge as lessor of at least some of the nine additional Airbus A220-300 for Croatia Airlines, having already placed six aircraft on a wet-lease contract with Swiss during this winter schedule to balance its redundancy of aircraft capacity.
