Nov 15, 2022 (newstodate): The Ukrainian carrier SkyUp Airlines is fighting to keep its fleet and crews in the air, focusing on the wet-lease markets.
To boost its efforts in attracting new wet-lease customers in the market, SkyUp Airlines has now signed an agreement with the British company Brookfield Aviation International that counts aircraft leasing among its key competencies.
SkyUp Airlines is urging western airlines to consider it for wet-lease contracts during the slack winter season, having served a number of airlines including Wizz Air, airBaltic, SmartWings, Freebird Airlines, Tailwind Airlines, Corendon Airlines during this summer schedule.
SkyUp Airlines operates a fleet comprising two Boeing 737-700 and nine Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Employing 408 flight attendants and 204 pilots, SkyUp holds an EASA TCO and the right to operate flights to the UK, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and an addition the carrier received the Swiss TCO in June 2022, thus confirming full compliance with Swiss and EU aviation safety standards.
