Oct 06, 2022 (newstodate): Under Chapter 11 protection, SAS is working hard to achieve its goals set by the survival action plan, SAS Forward.
One milestone, announced on October 5, 2022, was reached by agreements with 10 lessors representing a total of 36 aircraft to amend the terms of existing aircraft and equipment lease contracts.
The amended lease terms were reached with AerCap Holdings N.V., Aergo Capital Limited, Aircastle Limited, ALAFCO Aviation Lease and Finance Company, Avolon Aerospace Leasing Limited, CDB Aviation, Dubai Aerospace Enterprise Ltd., ICBC Aviation Leasing Co., Ltd., ORIX Aviation Systems Limited. and SDH Wings International Leasing Limited – representing a total of 36 aircraft, including three wide-body and 33 narrow-body aircraft, as well as certain related equipment.
As one example, AerCap signed agreements with SAS for the retention and lease extension of six Airbus A320 aircraft.
