Oct 11, 2022 (newstodate): Norway's Oslo Airport noted another dip in cargo volumes in September 2022.
Counting only flown cargo at the airport, total volumes of cargo and mail were down by five percent, y-o-y, to 10,696 tonnes in September, bringing the January-September 2022 volumes to 93,378 tonnes which is still down 10 percent, y-o-y.
Constituting the bulk of the cargo, international freight was down four percent in September, to 10,096 tonnes, and to 87,237 tonnes in Q1-Q3 '22, down 10 percent.
On the positive side, Ethiopian Airlines Cargo has added new freighter flights to China from Oslo Airport.
With the first operation on September 27, 2022, the carrier is now offering a weekly flight from Oslo to Guangzhou in Southern China with Boeing 777-200F aircraft on Tuesdays.
On the less-positive side, the long-haul carrier Norse is suspending all flights from Oslo to Los Angeles in winter '22/23; flights from Oslo to New York will go down from seven to three weekly rotations, and flights to Fort Lauderdale will be reduced from three to two weekly flights.
