Oct 06, 2022 (newstodate): Newcomer in the Romanian skies, AirConnect has been forced to postpone its start of scheduled services.
So far, plans were to get airborne with the first scheduled flight from October 15, 2022 - but this has now been revised and postponed till March 25, 2023.
Receiving its AOC on August 9, 2022, the carrier cites unexpected delays with delivery of its second aircraft as well as unresolved operational issues.
Set up by five private Romanian investors to serve the regional market, the airline started operations in July with one ATR-72-600 aircraft operating charter flights.
Plans were to add two more ATR-72-600 aircraft in August to be used for scheduled domestic operations as well as flights on routes to Budapest, Hungary.
