Oct 05, 2022 (newstodate): The Hungarian carrier Wizz Air has bolstered its already firm footing in the Romanian market with addition of more aircraft capacity.
The carrier has placed a further three factory-fresh Airbus A320 aircraft in Bucharest, bringing the total of Wizz Air aircraft in the Romanian market to 36, of which 15 are now based at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport.
The injection of more capacity at Bucharest allows the carrier to increase frequency on 20 existing routes, as well as opening flights to another three new destinations.
Among the routes n ow to see more operations are flights from Bucharest to Copenhagen, Stockholm Skavsta, Malmo, and Oslo Sandefjord.
Wizz Air made its entry in the Romanian market already in 2005 as Romania intensified its efforts of joining EU's Open Skies Treaty, allowing for free access by all EU-based carriers, ahead of the country's admission into the EU from 2007.
