Oct 10, 2022 (newstodate): Contrary to earlier reports, Finnair is not leaving Tokyo Narita Airport from this winter schedule.
In August 2022, Finnair announced the decision to move its daily Tokyo flights from Narita to Haneda Airport from this winter, operating the daily flights to Tokyo Haneda Airport to optimize connections to its partner Japan Airlines' onward flights that are of special importance to the business segment.
But instead, Finnair now says the flights to Tokyo Narita will continue with two weekly flights, bringing its Helsinki-Tokyo services to nine weekly operations, including the daily flights to Tokyo Haneda Airport.
Finnair has been online on the route from Helsinki to Tokyo Narita Airport since April 22, 1983.
Also serving the Finland-Japan market in a code-share agreement with Finnair is Japan Air Lines that will be increasing its frequency of flights from Tokyo Haneda Airport from four to five weekly rotations using Boeing 787-9 aircraft in October 2022.
