Oct 07, 2022 (newstodate): Sweden's Jonkoping Airport reports another month of positive development in cargo, September '22.
Compared to September '21, the airport handled 312 tonnes of cargo in September '22, which is a steep growth by 33 percent.
Comparing Q3 '22 to '21 also brings out two-digit growth figures, as cargo rose 30 percent to a total of 868 tonnes; and so far into 2022 the airport is thus 22 percent over Jan-Sep '21, handling a total of 2,483 tonnes.
After the first nine months of this year, Jonkoping Airport is now close to breaking a new full-year record in 2022, surpassing the total cargo volumes at 2,770 tonnes handled in 2021.
Jonkoping Airport's scheduled cargo business builds primarily on FedEx, Time:Matters and DANX connecting the airport with Brussels, Karlsruhe, Oslo, Billund and Helsinki.
The positive growth is also due to the return from January 31, 2022, of PostNord Sweden that has reinstated a nightly flight on weekdays from Stockholm Arlanda to Jonkoping Airport, further expanded since May 2, 2022, as PostNord now carries mail also on the return flight from Jonkoping to Stockholm Arlanda.
But while loads on the scheduled cargo traffic increased by six percent, y-o-y, the strong development during Jan-Sep '22 in the airport's ad-hoc and charter operations grew by no less than 659 percent, y-o-y!
