Jan 18, 2022 (newstodate): New at Oslo Airport in 2022 will be the Russian charter and scheduled carrier Nordwind Airlines.
Starting from April 28, 2022, Nordwind Airlines will be operating flights connecting St Petersburg and Oslo with two weekly rotations on Thursdays and Sundays using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Operating a fleet of 42 aircraft, including 12 Boeing 737-800, Nordwind Airlines was founded in August 2008 by the Russian and Turkish branches of tour operator Pegasus Touristik.
Flights on the route between Oslo and St Petersburg are also in the plans of Wizz Air that earlier set up flights to start from December 15, 2020, with three weekly rotations - but these plans have been repeatedly suspended during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic - and are now slated for launch by the end of March 2022.
